As a Board, we were optimistic and hopeful that our Health Unit would transition down to orange or yellow which would allow for curling to our extended end-of-season date. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Turns out, our last day of curling was March the 12th.
From the time we were forced to close early in 2020 to now, our intention has always been to get our member curlers back to playing the sport they love in a safe and healthy environment. With the support of all of our members, volunteers, staff, and sponsors, we feel we achieved that goal. While we were unable to curl the whole season due to circumstances beyond our control, we did get to throw many stones; more than many of our fellow curlers across the country. We have much to celebrate!
We would be remiss if we didn’t mention how much we missed our friends and fellow curlers as well as sponsors from south of the border.
While our season may be over, our volunteers and staff continue to keep our club going and plan for the 2021/22 season. We are open to rentals and other opportunities that the Northwestern Health Unit and the Province of Ontario will allow.
Stay safe and healthy.
